1. Transaction pending:

When a user initiates a transaction on the Polkadot network, the transaction is first created and broadcast to the network. At this stage, it is considered "pending." Pending transactions are unconfirmed and have not yet been included in a block.

1. Transaction finalized:

After a transaction has been included in a block and the block has been added to the chain, it is considered "finalized." Finalization is an essential feature of the Polkadot consensus mechanism, as it guarantees that it cannot be reverted or altered once a transaction is finalised.
